Today’s young people face life-threatening challenges on a daily basis – substance abuse, neglect, AIDS, poverty—the list is far too long. If our youth are to grow up and become productive citizens of society, they need a place where they can be just kids. They need caring adults to help them develop the skills and self-confidence to say no to dangerous pastimes. Boys & Girls Club of the Bemidji Area offers that – and much more.
Whether it’s help with homework to ensure they succeed in school, guidance to make appropriate choices and cope with peer pressure, computers to teach new technology skills, art projects to foster their creativity, community activities to develop their leadership skills, a book to help them learn to read, or something as simple as encouraging words to empower them and build their self-esteem, the Boys & Girls Club of the Bemidji Area believes every child deserves a foundation upon which to prosper.
As the nation’s fastest-growing youth service organization, Boys & Girls Clubs serve more than 4 million young people, ages 5-18. Throughout our history, we have always held a special concern for children from disadvantages circumstances. Our comprehensive youth development programs and services provide young people with the skills to overcome their challenges and become responsible citizens and leaders.
